…The NIGER DELTA YOUTH ALLIANCE GROUP calls for the removal of Tunji Ojo As Nddc committee chairman in the house of representatives while calling on the EFCC to arrest Him for Gross misconduct and embezzlement
In a media parley with News men in Bayelsa, the youth group frowns at the activities of NDDC in the region while faulting the leadership of NDDC committee in the green chambers
Subject to the matter arising against the house of representatives member Representing AKOKO WEST/EAST FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY, Hon. Tunji Ojo, the above named Group calls for his total removal as NDDC committee Chairman while faulting the Honourable speaker of the house of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila for appointing a newbie and a man of light weight profile without a remarkable profile to lead the prestigious and patronage filled NDDC committee in the green chambers
The Leader of the Group, Hon Preye Ibinabo frowns seriously at Hon Tunji ojo\’s continue staying as the chairman of Nddc Committee in the house of Representatives. Saying that He (Hon Ojo) is not experienced and totally not qualified to head such position.
According to Hon Preye, Niger Delta is not for arrogant and corrupt minded fellows to lead but people oriented leadership
So we are calling on his removal so we can atleast see developments in the region given that Tunji ojo\’s job as committee chairman is outright embezzlement he alleged
In 2019, he appointed 220 aides, which consists of one chief of staff, six special advisers, 156 special assistants and 67 personal assistant despite not sponsoring a single bill in the floor of the house ranking him among the worst in the lower Chambers.
Tunji Ojo, a notorious lawmaker became popular due to his alleged involvement in corruption and allegedly involved in contracts stealing and awarding NDDC contracts to his cronies alone
The whole scenario started in May 2020 when the interim committee management Chairman of the NDDC which alleged that a 40bn Naira probe launched by the parliament was instigated by the refusal to play ball in some alleged corrupt practice.
Matter got worst when the minister of Niger Delta senator Godwill Akpabio threw a salvo that hit the entire parliament so hard.
Senator Akpabio threw more green lights on the issues when he emphasized that those lawmakers investigating the NDDC are also beneficiaries of the large chunks of the contract from the commission.
Sen. Akpabio specifically mention name of both Chairman committee of NDDC in both red and green Chambers, he said \”I think I must have been misunderstood, I was given an example of contract of 10.9billion Naira in the chairman\’s place. I am saying that the contract are split to a point where it comes below the threshold of the minister approval. The contract was actually for the chairman state (ondo) and not for himself he added
