UNICAL VC Address at the PSG Orientation Ceremony

Prof. Obi gave the charge at the Orientation Ceremony organized for students admitted into the 2022/2023 session of the Post-Graduate school held at the institution\’s international Conference Centre.

While welcoming the students who are in the institution in pursuit of various post graduate degrees including. Post-Graduate Diplomas, Masters and Doctor of Philosophy, the University Administrator encouraged them to be good ambassadors of the institution.

Represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Angel Oyo Ita, the Vice Chancellor said that her administration will continue to support the students by ensuring that they graduate as and when due, noting that, to that end, a good number of backlog of results have been cleared.

The varsity Administrator implored the students to embrace dedication and hard-work by ensuring they do whatsoever is expected of them.

In an earlier remark, the Host of the ceremony and Dean of the Post-Graduate School, Prof. Eyong Ubana Eyong said the orientation was specifically organized to give the students an in-depth information about the do\’s and don\’ts of the institution as they relate to Post-Graduate studies.

He said the Orientation will also bring the new in-takes up to speed on general activities in the institution ranging from the rules and regulations, students rights, Tumitin and PGS e-learning plattorms amongst others.

He admonished the students to make good use of their time while in the institution, adding that, the Management will not be held accountable for things expected of them, stressing that, Management\’s role is to help the students achieve their dreams in life.

The PGS Boss used the occasion to inform that, Late Registration will commence two weeks after the orientation ceremony, adding that, all registration of courses should be done online as approved by Management.

The event featured presentations from various resource persons covering areas of relevance and interest to PGS studentship.
