OKON JACOB Biography A NANS NAT. VP ASPIRANT

His name is Comr Okon Jacob Okon a native of OSOK VILLAGE, Ekori Clan Okoyong and Esuk Odot, Ndon Clan (Martanal) in Odukpani Local Government Area, Cross River State. He had his Fir st School Leaving Certificate at Government Primary School Ikot Effiong Otop Okoyong and then proceeded to Odot Ediong Secondary Commercial School Obio Asim for his secondary education. He had his Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE) in Mathematics/Geography under Education at Cross River State College of Education Akamkpa.
However, his love for education made him come back to Calabar to further broaden his knowledge. He was given admission in University of Calabar to study Geography and Environmental Science in Faculty of Environmental Sciences.

It may also interest you to know that he is an activist, philanthropist, Administrator, a grass root mobilizer and a seasoned unionist. In the light of the above, He was entrusted with the office of Financial Secretary Students Union Government (SUG), Director of Information National Association of Cross River State Students Worldwide (NACRISS-WW), Public Relations Officer (P.P.O) National Association Nigerian Students Joint Campus Council (NANS-JCC) Cross River State in College of Education Akamkpa during his course of Study and he is the current, National President, Voice of Nigerian Students (VONS) a Member of Rotaract Club of Hilltop CB D9142 Calabar and Social Secretary National Youth Council of Nigeria Odukpani Chapter Cross River State.

Having used the office judiciously in impacting positively in the lives of followers through accomplished project and programs in the following directions.

Leadership
Education
Health
And Human capital development.

Embarking on timely conferences and seminars with seasons guest speaker that impacted positively to all attendees in partnership with different Students, Youths and none governmental organizations to achieving it

Education: and adage that\’s says charity begins at home, having been a self sponsored students, I know what it takes for young guys like me to hustle in the Streets to rays money for education purpose. Through VONS Foundation, I was able to pay visit to school most especially in the rural communities and distributed books, writing materials, school uniform and sandals. This is my way of giving back to the vulnerable ones. Therefore encouraging them to take education serous.

Health: This is one of the most critical factors in our School environment where most of our Union leaders pay none attention to. But I saw the needs to partner with the State government through the office of Director General Primary Health Care Development Agency in the State and organize health related programs and free testing. Which he took it as his pet and most achieved project for the past three years.

He embark on massive Vocational trainings in partnership with different foundations to God be the glory more than 200 Students including the vulnerable street children benefited.

To this end, Distinguished and most respected colleagues, he wish to do more if given opportunity to Serve our organization NANS as the Vice President (National Affairs.) An the truth is he can\’t achieve this without you because it will be our collective effort for us to achieve greatness this requires support, sponsorship and endorsement.
