The Special Envoy to West Africa of the International Human Rights Protection Service, Ambassador Charles Omini, has extended heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency, President Julius Maada Bio of Sierra Leone, on his emergence as the new Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government.
In a statement issued in Abuja, Ambassador Omini hailed President Bio’s appointment as a testament to his leadership qualities, experience, and unwavering commitment to regional peace, democracy, and development.
“The emergence of President Julius Maada Bio as ECOWAS Chairman comes at a critical time when West Africa needs bold, visionary, and people-centered leadership. I am confident that he possesses the capacity and wisdom to steer the sub-region to greater heights,” Omini stated.
He further offered prayers for good health, increased wisdom, and divine direction for President Bio as he assumes the responsibility of leading the regional bloc amidst mounting security, economic, and democratic challenges facing West Africa.
Ambassador Omini also reaffirmed the support of the International Human Rights Protection Service in promoting peace, justice, and human rights across the region and urged all member states to rally behind President Bio in delivering on ECOWAS’ core mandate.
