The State governor, Prince Bessey Otu, has officially unveiled the Cross River State Diaspora Commission and its Logo, in Calabar. (CRIDCOM logo)
The governor who was represented by His Deputy, Dr. Peter Odey urged the commission to ensure that cross Riverians in Diaspora are integrated into the development programmes of cross River State government.
He called for synergy specifically on investments for those in Diaspora to be involved economically and socially for the growth of the state.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Cross River State Diaspora Commission Prince Otu Okor, said the unveiling of the commission and Logo marks the beginning new era in the state’s engagement with Diaspora Commission
Prince Okor, restated commitment of creating a platform that will facilitate collaboration, investment, an knowledge sharing between the State and Diaspora community.
The commission chairman expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to the establishment of the commission and hope that stakeholders will be part of the development processes of the Diaspora Commission.
Also speaking the Chief of mission for Nigeria international organization for migration, Ms. Dimanche Sharon. Commended the Cross River State government for her interest in bridging the gap between the Diaspora community and the State, stressing the hope that the people of the Diaspora will be incorporated in the developmental programmes to enhance their economic viability.
Ms Sharon who was represented at the event, urged all hands to be on desk to achieve the objective for which the Diaspora Commission was established.
The unveiling of the commission was attended by well-meaning Nigerians within and outside the state.
