FIFA referees Ogabor Joseph Odey, Eliagwu, Others For Men, Women Federation’s Cup Finals Respectively
Two top FIFA referees are billed to handle the finals of the year’s Federation’s Cup Finals at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan Lagos.
Appointment of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF Referees Committee, Nigeria Whistlers has stipulates that Dr Joseph Ogabor, a seasoned international referee and University of Calabar lecturer will have the assistance of one of the fast rising FIFA Assistant Referee, Mahmud Yakubu of Bauchi and fresh from CAF young talent course in Egypt participant, FIFA Emmanuel Omada for the game between Kwara United of Ilorin vs Abakaliki FC of Ebonyi State, while Morroco WAFCON bound Yemisi Akintoye is the Fourth Official. Ironically, this will be the first FA Cup final match for the referees especially Omada of the Edo council who was FIFA badged this year.
In the women category, where Nassarawa Queens and Rivers Angels trade tackles, FCT’s Hannah Eliagwu has Mfom Friday Akapan and Agbons Faith both international referees of Akwa Ibom and Edo State Councils respectively. Ndidi Madu Patience is the Fourth Official.
The referees have retired FIFA referees as Assessors. Former Cross River State Council Chairman and CAF/ FIFA trained Technical Instructor cum international Assessor, Peter Edibe will oversee the male final officials while the National Training Officer, NTO of the Nigeria Football Referees’ Association, NFRA, Olori Jumoke Adebisi (FIFA Rtd) from the Oyo State Referees’Council will oversee the affairs of the women arbiters.
