As a Cross Riverian and Chairman of the Ruling party in the Country and our State, I want to sincerely and publicly express and convey my gratitude to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria , Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for the wonderful intervention in critical infrastructure in Cross River State especially the DEATH TRAP along Akamkpa – Biase by Niger Delta Development Commission ( NDDC ) under the able leadership of the Golden MD, Dr Samuel Ogbuku.
I also, extend my gratitude to the unsung hero of this wonderful intervention, the Senator Representing the good people of Southern Senatorial District of CRS /Senate Committee Chairman on NDDC, Sen. Asuquo Ekpenyong Jr.
I am most grateful to God Almighty who has heard our prayers. I had on two different occasions, on National television, knelt down to appeal to the Hon. Minister of Works, H.E. Engr Sen. David Nweze Umahi to intervene, he had assured me of Federal Government intervention through his Ministry but this recent intervention by NDDC which is a proactive step towards ameliorating the pains, difficulty and frustration our people experience daily on this road and the freedom from the number of avoidable accidents which has occurred on this portion of the road, has elated my spirit and I can only return all glory to God.
Let me specially appreciate our amiable Governor, H. E. Apostle Sen. Prince Bassey Otu whose large heart, commitment, and collaboration with NDDC has made this seamless.
For us in Cross River State, this is a practical and potent efficacious demonstration of the Renewed Hope Agenda for the good and hospitable people of the State.
I humbly appeal and suggest that for a durable and effective delivery of this project, a dual drainage on the road will help greatly.
20 kilometers Akamkpa – Biase intervention and other on going projects being carried on by the NDDC are people oriented projects; we pray for many more road water and light projects from NDDC to extend to the Central and Northern Senatorial Districts of Cross River State.
May God continue to bless everyone who have contributed to this landmark project.
