Nigeria’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Bianca Ojukwu, on Monday received Ambassador-designate to the Kingdom of Spain, former Abia State Governor Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, during a courtesy visit at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Abuja.
Mrs. Ojukwu, who served as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain from 2012 to 2015, welcomed Ikpeazu warmly and expressed confidence in his ability to excel in the diplomatic role, citing his extensive experience in public service and governance.
“Spain is a good place with a large Nigerian community. The issues there are not beyond what you can handle, having served in public office and as Governor for eight years. Nigeria also enjoys a strong relationship with Spain,” she told the Abia state ex-governor.
Dr. Ikpeazu, who governed Abia State from 2015 to 2023, was recently posted by President Bola Tinubu as Nigeria’s envoy to Madrid.
