Mrs. Catherine Agba Ajibike Celebrates Easter with Obudu Women Network, Disburses Cash Support

‎In the spirit of celebrating the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, Mrs. Catherine Agba Ajibiike on Monday, April 6 (Easter Monday), graciously hosted members of the Obudu Women Network alongside other party supporters at her residence in Ukwel-Obudu Village, Urban II Ward, Obudu Local Government Area.

‎The event, which also served as an empowerment initiative, was chaired by the Executive Chairman of Obudu Local Government Council, Ntufam Amb. Hon. Peter Akonfe Undiandeye, who was ably represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Rhoda Ashong. The gathering focused on supporting rural women through cash empowerment to enable them establish and grow micro-businesses for self-reliance and economic independence.

‎In her remarks, the Vice Chairman commended the Director General, Mrs. Ajibike, describing her initiative as a people-oriented empowerment effort that will significantly contribute to the development of Obudu.

‎Also speaking, the Paramount Ruler of Obudu Local Government Area, HRM Utsu Felix Ukudari (Utsu Bette V), applauded the gesture and called on government agencies, traditional institutions, and religious leaders to sustain the legacy of late Chief J.A. Agba by prioritizing grassroots empowerment. He further offered prayers for God’s continued guidance and blessings upon the host.

‎The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Obudu Chapter, Comr. Joseph Ubenaye Odama, reaffirmed the party’s commitment to improving the welfare of its members, particularly women, and appreciated the efforts of the State Governor, Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu, and his wife, Dr. Mrs. Eyowan Bassey Otu, for their continued support for women’s development.

‎In her response, Mrs. Catherine Agba Ajibike expressed heartfelt appreciation to all attendees, emphasizing that women remain vital pillars and shining examples in society. She also acknowledged the unwavering support of the First Lady, Bishop Dr. Mrs. Eyoanwan Bassey Otu, in advancing the cause of women across the state.
