The Management of the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH), Calabar, has raised alarm over the activities of fraudsters impersonating the institution to issue fake admission offers to unsuspecting members of the public.
According to the management, certain individuals and criminal groups have been circulating unauthorized and misleading bank account details with the intention of extorting money from prospective students seeking admission into the institution.
UCTH emphasized that admissions are not processed through agents or third parties and warned members of the public against dealing with unauthorized persons claiming to represent the institution.
The hospital further clarified that all payments are made strictly through official channels as indicated on the official fliers of the College of Nursing Sciences and the School of Health Information Management.
Management advised the public to remain vigilant, verify all information properly, ignore suspicious messages, and avoid making payments into unknown or personal bank accounts.
UCTH stated that it will not be held responsible for any loss resulting from transactions carried out with fraudsters or unauthorized individuals.
For verified information and official inquiries, the public has been directed to contact the institution through its official website or via its Facebook page, UCTH Corporate Affairs.
