Trabzonspor Agree Deal to Re-Sign André Onana From Manchester United on New Loan

Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor have reached a verbal agreement to re-sign goalkeeper André Onana from Manchester United on a new loan deal that will keep him at the club until June 2027.

The Cameroon international has accepted the opportunity to remain in Turkey for another season after spending the previous campaign on loan at Trabzonspor. The club are now prepared to complete the agreement and pay a loan fee to Manchester United for his services.

Manchester United are not counting on Onana as part of their plans for the upcoming season, with the club open to allowing the goalkeeper to continue his career away from Old Trafford.

Onana joined Manchester United from Inter Milan in 2023 and was the club’s first-choice goalkeeper during his initial spell in England. However, following changes in the squad and future planning, United have decided that a temporary move would be the best option for both parties.

Trabzonspor are keen to move quickly to finalize the deal and secure the return of a goalkeeper who has already gained experience in the Turkish league. The agreement is expected to be completed once the final paperwork and formal procedures are concluded.

The loan move will give Onana the chance to continue regular first-team football while Trabzonspor strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
