2027: Nasarawa South APC stakeholders Throw demand On 2027 Elections

Written by Mary Bassey

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Nasarawa South Senatorial District have called on the party to zone its deputy governorship ticket for the 2027 general election to the district.

The demand was made during a meeting of APC stakeholders in the zone, where participants argued that the party’s deputy governorship candidate should emerge from Nasarawa South to ensure fairness, balance, and wider political inclusion.

According to the stakeholders, with Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada widely regarded as the APC’s governorship candidate from the Nasarawa West Senatorial District, the deputy governorship position should be ceded to Nasarawa South to strengthen the party’s electoral prospects and foster unity ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

The stakeholders maintained that such an arrangement would promote equitable representation across the state’s three senatorial districts while enhancing the APC’s chances of securing victory at the polls.

In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, the group urged the party leadership and key stakeholders to consider the interests of Nasarawa South when making decisions on the deputy governorship ticket.

They also expressed confidence that a balanced governorship ticket would deepen party cohesion, encourage grassroots support, and improve the APC’s chances of retaining power in the state during the 2027 elections.

The stakeholders further appealed to party leaders to ensure that the selection process is guided by fairness, competence, loyalty, and the overall interest of the APC and the people of Nasarawa State.
