LEGENDARY WORLD CUP FOR AFRICA AS NINE TEAMS REACH KNOCKOUT STAGE

Africa has announced its arrival on football’s biggest stage, with a record-breaking World Cup campaign that has delivered passion, energy and quality.

The continent has achieved a historic milestone as nine African nations secured places in the FIFA World Cup Round of 32, marking one of the greatest collective performances in the history of African football.

The teams flying the African flag in the knockout phase are South Africa, Cape Verde, Ivory Coast, Morocco, Senegal, Ghana, Egypt, Democratic Republic of Congo and Algeria.

Among the standout stories is Cape Verde’s remarkable journey, with the island nation making history on the global stage, while Morocco continues to build on its reputation as one of Africa’s strongest football nations.  South Africa has also captured attention by reaching the knockout stage for the first time, adding another chapter to the continent’s World Cup story.

The knockout rounds now present a new challenge. With the pressure higher and every match carrying elimination stakes, African teams will look to prove that this is more than just a record-breaking qualification campaign.

The question now echoes across the football world: which African side will go the furthest in the knockout stage?

Will it be the experience and organisation of Morocco and Senegal? The attacking flair of Ivory Coast and Egypt? The determination of Ghana, Algeria and DR Congo? Or could South Africa and Cape Verde continue their historic runs?

One thing is certain — Africa has arrived at the World Cup with confidence, ambition and a belief that the continent can compete with the best.
