Nigerian music promoter Sam Larry has publicly addressed the family of late singer , denying any involvement in the circumstances surrounding the artist’s death and making fresh allegations about financial demands.
In a statement shared during an Instagram Live session, Sam Larry insisted that neither he nor was responsible for what happened to Mohbad. He urged the late singer’s family to focus on uncovering the actual cause of his death rather than blaming them
According to Sam Larry, he and Naira Marley allegedly paid Mohbad’s father $1 million in an effort to end the controversy surrounding the case. He further claimed that the family later requested an additional ₦200 million, a demand he described as unreasonable.
He also accused the family of repeatedly bringing up the matter despite what he described as efforts to move on, arguing that the continued accusations have damaged both his and Naira Marley’s reputations.
Sam Larry further questioned Mohbad’s father’s actions, suggesting that accepting money to resolve such a matter would be inappropriate. He also claimed he would not be surprised if the family possessed information about the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death, while maintaining that he had genuine affection for the late singer.
