Deco Secures Karim Adeyemi Signing as Barcelona Reach Agreement
Barcelona have reached a verbal agreement to sign German forward Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund, with the transfer now considered all but complete.
The deal is valued at an initial €22 million, with an additional €7 million in performance-related add-ons linked to Barcelona winning major titles and Adeyemi’s appearances for the club. Both clubs have finalized the agreement, paving the way for the winger to begin a new chapter in Spain.
Barcelona sporting director Deco played a key role throughout the negotiations, successfully reducing Dortmund’s asking price to secure one of the club’s top transfer targets.
Adeyemi is expected to sign a five-year contract, committing his future to Barcelona as the club continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season.
The 24-year-old reportedly made it clear from the beginning that Barcelona was the only club he wanted to join, despite interest from elsewhere in Europe.
For Adeyemi, the move represents the fulfillment of a long-held dream. The pacey attacker now gets the opportunity to play at one of the world’s biggest clubs and will hope to make an immediate impact with his speed, creativity, and attacking threat.
Barcelona view Adeyemi as an important addition to their attacking options as they continue building a squad capable of competing for domestic and European honours. An official announcement is expected once the remaining paperwork and medical formalities are completed.
