A final-year Public Health student at the University of Calabar (UNICAL), Favour Felix Kesia, is making waves with the launch of the UNICAL Digital Market, an innovative online marketplace created to support businesses within the university community.
Favour, who currently serves as the Chief of Staff to the UNICAL Students’ Union Government (SUG) Vice President, developed the platform to provide students, staff, and campus entrepreneurs with a safe, convenient, and mobile-friendly space to buy, sell, and promote their products and services.
The UNICAL Digital Market is designed as a digital ecosystem that connects vendors with customers, making transactions easier while encouraging entrepreneurship and supporting small businesses across the university. The platform aims to strengthen the campus economy by giving business owners greater visibility and easier access to potential buyers.
Beyond its marketplace features, the initiative reflects Favour’s commitment to innovation, youth empowerment, and the use of technology to solve everyday challenges within the university environment.
Favour Felix Kesia hails from Abi Local Government Area of Cross River State. In addition to her academic and leadership roles, she is also a contestant in the Miss Cross River International pageant, where she is proudly representing Calabar Municipality.
Her initiative has been praised as a step toward promoting digital entrepreneurship and creating more opportunities for students and staff to grow their businesses through technology.
