Nigeria’s world record holder in the women’s 100m hurdles, Tobi Amusan, has officially secured a place in the 2026 Wanda Diamond League Final following a series of outstanding performances throughout the season.
The former world champion booked her ticket to the season-ending championship after accumulating 28 points from five Diamond League meetings, placing her comfortably among the athletes qualified for the prestigious final.
The 2026 Wanda Diamond League Final is scheduled to take place on September 4 and 5 at the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels, Belgium, where the world’s top track and field stars will compete for the coveted Diamond Trophy.
Amusan has enjoyed a remarkable campaign, consistently finishing among the top contenders in the women’s 100m hurdles. Her season has been highlighted by a victory at the Paris Diamond League, where she clocked a season-best 12.28 seconds, as well as podium finishes in other Diamond League meetings.
The qualification further boosts Amusan’s preparations as she aims to end the Diamond League season on a high and continue her impressive run on the international athletics stage.
The 29-year-old remains one of Nigeria’s most successful athletes, having won multiple Diamond League titles and setting the women’s 100m hurdles world record of 12.12 seconds at the 2022 World Athletics Championships.
