AS Roma Agree Deal to Sign Santiago Castro from Bologna
AS Roma have reached an agreement to sign Argentine striker Santiago Castro from Bologna in their first major signing of the summer transfer window.
The deal is worth €35 million, with an additional €2 million in performance-related add-ons, while Bologna will also retain a sell-on clause as part of the agreement.
Castro is regarded as one of Serie A’s brightest young attacking talents, and the Giallorossi believe he can strengthen their frontline with his energy, movement, and finishing ability.
Roma moved quickly to secure the striker after successful negotiations with Bologna, ensuring the transfer was completed before competition from other clubs could intensify.
Meanwhile, Bologna are already preparing for Castro’s departure. The club is finalizing a loan deal to bring in Ukrainian striker Artem Dovbyk as his replacement, with discussions progressing toward completion.
Castro’s arrival signals Roma’s intent to strengthen their squad early in the transfer window as Gasperini begins building a team capable of competing for domestic and European success.
The transfer is expected to be officially announced once Castro successfully completes his medical and signs the necessary paperwork.
