Bologna Agree Deal to Sign Artem Dovbyk on Loan from AS Roma
Bologna have reached an agreement with AS Roma to sign striker Artem Dovbyk on a loan deal as the club moves quickly to reinforce its attack following Santiago Castro’s departure.
The former Girona forward will join Bologna on a loan agreement running until June 2027, with the player already accepting the club’s proposal. Dovbyk is scheduled to undergo his medical on Tuesday before completing the move.
The transfer is part of a coordinated deal between the two Serie A clubs. While Santiago Castro heads to AS Roma in a permanent transfer, Bologna have secured Dovbyk as his replacement to maintain their attacking options ahead of the new season.
Dovbyk arrives with proven experience at the highest level, having impressed during his time at Girona before earning a move to Roma. Bologna believe the Ukrainian international has the quality and goal-scoring ability to strengthen the squad as they prepare for another competitive campaign.
Club officials worked swiftly to finalize the agreement, with all major terms now in place. The medical is expected to be the final step before the transfer is officially confirmed.
The move offers Dovbyk the opportunity for regular first-team football, while Bologna gain an experienced striker capable of making an immediate impact in Serie A.
An official announcement is expected once the medical examination and final paperwork have been completed.
