The Osun State Police Command has arrested 10 suspects in connection with separate incidents involving alleged attempted murder, assault, illegal possession of firearms and an invasion of the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree.
Four of the suspects were arrested in Modakeke, Ife East Local Government Area, following allegations of conspiracy, attempted murder, assault occasioning harm and unlawful possession of prohibited firearms.
The suspects were identified as Olufemi Olatunji, 39; Ajayi Idowu, 31; Akingbala Oluwakemi, 40; and Adekunle Basirat, 40.
According to the police, the four suspects were arrested by operatives at about 2am on August 9, 2026, following a petition submitted to the Commissioner of Police.
The command said the arrests formed part of ongoing efforts to tackle violent crimes and protect residents across the state.
In a separate operation, six other suspects were reportedly arrested in connection with an alleged invasion of the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree.
The police said investigations into both incidents were ongoing, while efforts were being made to establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged offences and identify other persons who may be connected to the cases.
The command reiterated its commitment to maintaining peace and security across Osun State, urging residents to provide useful information that could assist security agencies in preventing crime.
The suspects will be subjected to further investigation and prosecution where sufficient evidence is established.
