Daniel Obo Appointed Co-Chairman of Niger Delta Youth Day Celebration 2026 Planning Committee
The Niger Delta Youth Parliament (NDYP) has appointed His Youthfulness Daniel Daniel Obo, Special Adviser on Youth Mobilization, Cross River State, and Vice President, South-South, Nigeria Youth Congress, as Co-Chairman of the Central Planning Committee for the Niger Delta Youth Day Celebration 2026.
The appointment was contained in an official letter signed by the Speaker of the Niger Delta Youth Parliament, Rt. Hon. Ijon Daniel Samuel.
Celebration Scheduled for November 19–21
According to the letter, the Niger Delta Youth Day Celebration 2026 is scheduled to hold from November 19 to 21, 2026, under the theme:
“From Vision to Reality: Transforming the Niger Delta Through Innovation & Diversification.”
The NDYP said Obo’s appointment was in recognition of his demonstrated leadership capacity, experience, commitment to youth development and ability to mobilise people and resources towards the successful execution of strategic initiatives.
Obo to Provide Strategic Leadership
As Co-Chairman, Obo is expected to work closely with the Chairman and other members of the Central Planning Committee to provide strategic leadership, coordination and oversight for the planning and delivery of the celebration.
His responsibilities will include providing strategic direction for the committee and ensuring effective coordination of its activities.
He will also work with the Chairman to supervise planning and implementation activities leading to the celebration, while coordinating with sub-committees to ensure that approved deliverables are executed within stipulated timelines.
Stakeholder Mobilisation and Partnerships
The appointment also places Obo at the centre of stakeholder engagement and mobilisation efforts for the event.
The NDYP expects him to support partnership development with governments, corporate organisations, development partners, traditional institutions, youth organisations and other relevant stakeholders.
Other responsibilities include promoting accountability, professionalism, innovation and effective resource utilisation throughout the planning process, as well as representing the Central Planning Committee when delegated or required.
He may also perform other duties assigned by the leadership of the Niger Delta Youth Parliament in furtherance of the objectives of the celebration.
Event to Promote Innovation and Youth Participation
The NDYP expressed confidence that Obo’s experience and commitment would contribute significantly to the successful delivery of what it described as a landmark Niger Delta Youth Day Celebration.
According to the organisation, the event is expected to inspire innovation, entrepreneurship, cultural pride, economic diversification and meaningful youth participation in the development of the Niger Delta Region.
The celebration is also expected to bring together young people, leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, policymakers and development stakeholders in what the NDYP described as a historic and impactful convergence.
The organisation congratulated Obo on his appointment and expressed confidence in his contribution towards the successful execution of the 2026 celebration.
