The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has issued a stern warning to residents who provide information, logistical support or other forms of assistance to kidnappers and criminal gangs, cautioning that anyone found culpable will face serious legal consequences.
The warning comes amid persistent security concerns in parts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), particularly incidents of kidnapping and other criminal activities threatening the safety of residents.
The administration stressed that individuals who collaborate with criminal networks by revealing the movements of potential victims, identifying targets or supplying information to abductors would not be spared during security operations.
It also urged residents to distance themselves from criminal activities and cooperate with security agencies by providing credible information that could help prevent attacks, rescue victims and apprehend perpetrators.
The FCTA maintained that tackling insecurity requires collective responsibility, noting that timely intelligence from members of the public remains crucial to the efforts of security operatives.
Residents were therefore encouraged to remain vigilant, report suspicious movements and avoid any association with individuals or groups involved in kidnapping, banditry and other forms of criminality.
The administration reiterated its commitment to supporting security agencies in safeguarding lives and property across the nation’s capital, warning that anyone found aiding criminal activities would be held accountable under the law.
