Nollywood actress Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha is mourning the death of her father, Chief Leonard Ndukaife Chukwuka, following an emotional announcement that has drawn condolences from fans and colleagues.
The veteran actress shared the sad news on Friday, October 2, 2026, through a heartfelt post on her Instagram page, where she expressed her grief over losing her beloved father.
In her tribute, Chioma revealed that the loss was particularly painful because her mother died 13 years ago, leaving her without either parent.
“My beloved father, Leonard Ndukaife Chukwuka, has gone to be with the Lord,” she wrote.
The actress described her late father as her comfort, a precious part of her life, and someone whose presence meant so much to her.
Despite her grief, she expressed gratitude to God for granting him a long life and allowing him to witness his children and grandchildren grow.
She also reflected on the pain of losing a parent, noting that no matter how many years people spend with their loved ones, they still wish for more time, conversations and embraces.
Chioma disclosed that she had kept the news private for some time while trying to process her grief before deciding to share it publicly.
She subsequently appealed to fans, friends and well-wishers to remember her, her siblings and the entire Chukwuka family in their prayers during this difficult period.
The actress added that details of her father’s funeral arrangements would be announced when the family is ready.
She concluded her emotional tribute by bidding farewell to her father, whom she fondly called the Olowo of Ikate, assuring him of her everlasting love.
