South-South Zonal Coordinator, Queen Benedicta Akpana Okpang, says registration has commenced in Cross River State, with Bayelsa, Edo, Akwa Ibom and Delta to follow.
The City Boy Movement has commenced the registration of political support groups across Nigeria’s South-South region as preparations intensify ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The registration exercise, which has begun in Cross River State, is aimed at documenting and coordinating the various groups operating under the movement ahead of the presidential campaign.
Speaking to newsmen, the South-South Zonal Coordinator of the City Boy Movement, Queen Benedicta Akpana Okpang, confirmed that registration had officially commenced in the region, with Cross River State serving as the starting point.
According to her, the exercise is designed to establish a comprehensive record of all support groups affiliated with the movement, promote accountability and ensure effective coordination of their activities in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Bayelsa, Edo, Akwa Ibom and Delta to Follow
Queen Benedicta assured supporters in other South-South states, including Bayelsa, Edo, Akwa Ibom and Delta, that their registration schedules would be communicated in due course.
She explained that the exercise would extend across all six states in the South-South geopolitical zone, with her responsibility as zonal coordinator being to ensure that the various support groups are properly registered and coordinated.
Cross River Registration Begins Grassroots Mobilisation
Explaining why Cross River State was selected to kick-start the exercise, the zonal coordinator said the initiative reflects the principle that charity begins at home.
She expressed confidence in the movement’s mobilisation efforts and reaffirmed her belief that President Tinubu’s administration means well for Nigerians.
Queen Benedicta also called on supporters to remain committed as the movement prepares for the forthcoming presidential campaign and the 2027 general elections.
The registration exercise is expected to strengthen the City Boy Movement’s organisational structure, improve accountability among affiliated groups and coordinate its activities across the South-South region ahead of the elections.
