Lady Warns Car Owners About What Some Mechanics Allegedly Do to Their Tyres

Written by Mary Bassey

A lady has advised vehicle owners to take pictures of their car tyres before handing their vehicles over to mechanics, following concerns that some dishonest mechanics may allegedly replace good tyres with worn-out ones without the owners’ knowledge.

In a warning that has attracted attention, the lady urged motorists to document the condition of their tyres before taking their vehicles to workshops for repairs or servicing.

According to her, taking clear pictures of all four tyres can help car owners keep track of their condition and provide evidence if they later discover that their tyres have been changed.

She also encouraged vehicle owners to pay attention to their tyres whenever they take their cars for maintenance, rather than assuming that everything will remain untouched during the repair process.

The warning has sparked conversations about trust between vehicle owners and automobile mechanics, particularly the importance of transparency when dealing with repair services.

Although the allegation does not mean that all mechanics engage in such practices, motorists are advised to take simple precautions to protect their belongings.

Car owners can also record tyre brands, sizes and visible identification markings, request that any replacement be explained beforehand, and inspect their vehicles before leaving the workshop.

Taking these precautions could help prevent misunderstandings and make it easier to identify any unauthorised changes.
