The Director-General of Good Governance Advocacy International (GGAI), Sir Leonard Anyogo, has announced plans to celebrate his 2026 birthday without a birthday cake, urging family, friends, supporters, and well-wishers to channel birthday gifts and donations towards the organisation’s ongoing fundraising campaign.
Anyogo appealed to those wishing to celebrate him with gifts to instead contribute, regardless of the amount, to the fundraising initiative in support of GGAI’s work.
Anyogo Redirects Birthday Gifts to GGAI Fundraising
According to the birthday celebrant, the decision reflects his commitment to advancing the humanitarian and governance-focused work of Good Governance Advocacy International.
He explained that GGAI has received provisional grant support from the New African Fund, which can only be accessed through a matching grant arrangement. Consequently, all contributions are being directed towards meeting the required fundraising target.
As part of the initiative, Anyogo has chosen to sacrifice even his birthday cake, encouraging supporters to prioritise the organisation’s mission over personal gifts.

GGAI DG Recalls 2025 Birthday Public Lecture
The Director-General’s 2025 birthday celebration, held on November 5, was marked by a public lecture titled “People Governance Policy” at Channel View Hotels, Calabar.
The event attracted representatives of stakeholders involved in nation-building and received local and international media coverage.
This year’s celebration, however, takes a different approach, with the focus shifted towards supporting GGAI’s ongoing programmes and fundraising efforts.
Supporters Urged to Donate to GGAI
Anyogo has called on family members, friends, supporters, and well-wishers who believe in the organisation’s work to contribute to the fundraising campaign.
Donations can be made through the link or account details published on GGAI’s official platforms, including its website, ggadvocacy.org, under the “Program and Event” section.
Interested supporters may also contact the celebrant personally for further information on how to contribute.
The appeal underscores Anyogo’s commitment to promoting good governance and supporting initiatives aimed at improving humanity.
As Sir Leonard Anyogo marks another year, congratulations go to him and the entire GGAI team for their continued efforts towards humanitarian service and good governance.
