Health Commissioner Assures State of Sustainable Healthcare System Across the State
The Cross River State Commissioner for Health, Dr Janet Ekpenyong has pledged full commitment in meeting the health needs of people in the state as she assures Cross Riverians of a holistic improvement in the quality of services rendered across the 18 Local Government Areas of the state .
Speaking after the swearing in ceremony held at the Exco Chamber of the Cross River State Government House Calabar, the commissioner said there\’s little or no time for fun fair as the need to sustain the quality of lives of Cross Riverians remains a priority to her and the team.
According to her, the continuous and holistic investment in the health sector by the state Governor, Senator Ben Ayade is already giving the state an edge over other state, hence the determination to build, revamp, remodel and equip more facilities across the state.
\”It\’s a call for more work, I\’m sure he\’s happy with what we have achieved in the Primary Healthcare level and hence the elevation to the position of Commissioner for Health.
The governor is committed towards strengthening the health system be it infrastructure wise, man power with evidence in the recruitment currently ongoing as well as provision of commodities in all facilities\”.
She further called for positive contributions from all stakeholders to ensure the smooth running and result oriented programs for the benefits of the larger society.
Prior to her confirmation as cross river new Commissioner for Health, Dr Janet Ekpenyong served as Director General of the Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency and coordinated numerous activities which propelled great recognitions from within and outside the country.
She served as vice Chairman of all 36 states Executive Secretaries of the Primary Healthcare Agencies in Nigeria and represented the group honourably.
