Governor Ben Ayade\’s magic fingers at work again as Cross River State receives her vaccine after 4 months with no vaccines to vaccinate children.

The CRSPHCDA Director General Deaconess Mrs Abasioffiong Offiong hit the road running as soon as she was appointment and has today put the issue of lack of vaccines for the State to rest.

With this, our children are now safe even though every child is born with naturally-acquired immunity to fight against diseases. Unlike adults, the immune system of children are immature and not strong enough to eliminate many of the germs they may be exposed to. Therefore, Immunization provides protection to help children fight diseases in their early life, thereby helping to save millions of children around the world from untimely death.

The DG Deaconess Mrs Abasioffiong on her part has thanked the State Governor Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade, his dear wife Dr Linda Ayade, the health commissioner Dr. Janet Ekpenyong, WHO, NPHCDA, UNICEF and all partners for making the process seamless while calling on all mothers to be rest assured that the lives of their children are in safe hands and the fight towards strengthening the health sector will never cease.

CCOs to come pick up vaccines immediately. UNICEF helped us get connected to the national grid with a 24hrs light now. WHO played a huge role in this achievement and NPHCDA worked this out within hours. Thank Dr. Linda Ayade and the health commissioner.

The State have not had vaccines for over 4months now and today we have received vaccines as such Local Government Cool Chain Officers (CCOs) should immediately pick up their vaccines as all vaccines are intact and in large quantity to serve our people. Vaccines are free of charge. Do not pay a dime for any vaccine as government has sorted out all financial challenges involved.

Vaccines such as Rota, BCG, Penta, IPV, etc are all intact and in thousands. This is another of the numerous achievements of the newly appointed Director General of the CRSPHCDA.
