The Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN) has formally inducted 85 foreign-trained Nigerian pharmacists into the profession following the successful completion of the first cycle of the 2026 Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Orientation Programme.
The oath-taking and induction ceremony, held on Monday in Abuja, marked the official admission of the pharmacists into professional practice in Nigeria after fulfilling the Council’s mandatory orientation requirements.
Addressing the newly inducted professionals, the PCN urged them to uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism and ethical conduct while delivering quality pharmaceutical services across the country.
The Council also reminded the inductees that the pharmacy profession demands a strong commitment to patient safety, accountability and continuous professional development, stressing that pharmacists play a critical role in strengthening Nigeria’s healthcare system.
The orientation programme is designed to familiarise foreign-trained pharmacy graduates with Nigeria’s healthcare policies, pharmaceutical regulations and professional ethics before they are licensed to practise in the country.
The 85 inductees were subsequently administered the oath of allegiance to the profession, officially qualifying them to begin pharmaceutical practice in Nigeria under the regulatory oversight of the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria.
