APC Confirms Dates for 2027 Primary Elections, Dismisses Rumours of Postponement

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially clarified that the timetable for its forthcoming 2027 General Elections Primary Elections remains unchanged, despite rumours and misleading reports circulating across social media and other communication platforms.

The party urged members, aspirants, supporters, and the general public to disregard any false information suggesting adjustments or postponement of the scheduled primaries.

According to the APC, the primary elections will proceed as earlier announced in preparation for the 2027 General Elections across Nigeria.

The confirmed dates are as follows:

  • House of Representatives Primary Election – Friday, May 15, 2026
  • Senate Primary Election – Monday, May 18, 2026
  • State House of Assembly Primary Election – Wednesday, May 20, 2026
  • Governorship Primary Election – Thursday, May 21, 2026
  • Presidential Primary Election – Saturday, May 23, 2026

The party emphasized its commitment to a transparent, peaceful, and credible primary election process, while calling on party faithful to rely only on official APC communication channels for verified information regarding the primaries and other electoral activities.

The clarification comes amid heightened political activities and growing interest from aspirants contesting various elective positions under the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
