ASUU Set To Call Off Strike. See reasons

ASUU Set To Call Off Strike.

  1. ASUU and FG have Concluded all Negotiations and all that remains is for president to give his approval. But the Minister of education is not going back to the president until all issues have been resolved with all other unions in the University so that president will sign it once and for all. This is what the president wants anyway.
  2. ASUU is holding every information tight because the other unions are waiting for the ASUU document to be made public so that they can use it to negotiate like they did in 2009.That is why only one document has been produced and only the education Minister is with a copy. The other unions nave been caught unaware and have prepared no document to even negotiate with particularly NAAT and NASU.
  3. Salary increase is said to be fair and better than what currently obtains. ASUU national will not make this information available to members until the president signs off in it next week.
  4. Nothing was said about EAA and
    revitalization fund.
  5. As soon as the president signs the document, members can expect some portion of withheld salaries to be released, probably March and April salaries.
  6. Although JAC of SSANU and NASU has already Complied their re-negotiate agreement they will submit to FG Next Week.

In Summary: The negotiations with other unions will be completed on Wednesday Next Week. From North Zonal Meeting Today.
