The Cross River State Government is gearing up to host the biggest Calabar Christmas Village 2024, an exciting event that promises a large marketplace for shopping, entertainment, free medical services, education, and a variety of food from within and beyond the state.
Speaking with Calabargist Media, Mr. Orokfestival, at the Calabar Municipal Council, where the Christmas Village will be situated, explained that the 2024 edition will surpass previous years in scale and organization. He proudly shared that all available spots for food, drinks, and other activities within the Christmas Village have already been fully booked.
While speaking, Mr. Orokfestival demonstrated the layout of the village, pointing out the different sections where various structures will be erected. He highlighted the active teams on the ground, including electricians, security personnel, and other staff, all ready to commence construction of the shops.
“With full confidence, I can say that sanitation of the entire council area has already started. Once this phase is complete, the construction of structures and other essential preparations will officially begin,” Mr. Orokfestival assured. He further mentioned that by the first weekend of October 2024, the setup of structures, including shops, will begin. The Calabar Christmas Village is set to officially launch on 1st December 2024, following a grand inauguration by the State Government.

Shops Available for Rent
Currently, the food and drink stands are fully booked, but there are still a few spaces available for non-perishable shops, semi-detached, and mini-shops.
The total number of stands for the 2024 Calabar Christmas Village are as follows:
– Food and Drinks: 120 stands (fully booked)
– Non-Perishable Goods: 15 stands
– Semi-Detached Shops: 10 stands
– Mini Shops: 24 stands
As noted, food and drink stands are no longer available, so interested vendors should hurry to secure one of the remaining stands.
