Clay Travis Offers $10 Million Challenge to WNBA Champions

Conservative media personality and sports commentator Clay Travis has raised the stakes in a controversial basketball challenge, offering $10 million to the defending WNBA champions, the Las Vegas Aces, if they can defeat a high school boys’ basketball team selected by him.

In a public statement, Travis announced he was increasing the prize money for the proposed exhibition game, saying:

“I am upping my offer, $10 million dollars for a head-to-head basketball game between the defending WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces and a boy’s high school state title team of my choice. If the Aces beat my team, I will give them $10 million.”

The proposal has quickly sparked widespread debate across social media, with fans and analysts divided over whether such a matchup would be fair or appropriate. Discussions have centered on the physical differences between elite female professional athletes and top-performing high school boys’ teams, a topic that has generated controversy in sports circles for years.

The Las Vegas Aces, one of the WNBA’s most successful franchises in recent seasons, have not publicly responded to Travis’ challenge. It also remains unclear whether the proposed prize is backed by formal arrangements or whether an official exhibition game could be organized.

The announcement has fueled conversation beyond basketball, touching on broader issues surrounding gender, competition, and the recognition of women’s professional sports.

For now, the $10 million challenge remains a public offer, with attention turning to whether the Aces—or the WNBA—will acknowledge or respond to the proposal.
