The Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey officially commissioned skill acquisition centre donated by Chief (Engr)David Abang, a retired staff of NNPC and founder of Rural Africa Industrial Skills and Empowerment (RAISE) Foundation.
The skill acquisition centre, situated in Idum-Mbube, provides learning facilities for members of the community.
Speaking at the flag-off, Rt. Hon. Odey commended the donor, for giving back to the society and admonished the youth, women and other members of the community to protect th facilities and ensure it serves the purpose it was built.
Speaking further, he said: \”Engr David Abang is not a politician but he has defeated all the politicians by what he has done\”
Highpoint of the event was cutting of the ribbon by the APC State Chairman, Barr. Alphonsus Eba who represented the Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu and donation of the sum of N5m for the kick-off of the centre by the Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey
