CROSS RIVER STATE COMMISSIONER SHUTDOWN PROPOSED PROTEST.

AN INTERFACE WITH THE COMMISSIONER OF POLICE CROSS RIVER STATE SECTION OVER A PROPOSED PROTEST THAT WAS TO BE HELD YESTERDAY, 1ST JUNE 2O23

On the 1st day of June 2023,the leadership of the cross river state students association had an interface with the commissioner of police, CP Austine Grimah over a proposed protest that was supposed to hold yesterday over the increments on the price of fuel in the state which is affecting the students in a varieties of ways.

This meeting was considered very vital for the welfarism of Nigerian students as negotiation was actually reach between the students leaders and the commissioner representing the government of the day..

In the meeting,the commissioner stated reasons why the government of the day should be given the opportunity to handle the situation as proper modalities to handle the situation was already on ground,the commissioner equally interceded that the government of the day was at her early stage and as such should not be welcomed with a protest..

In reaction to this request the students leaders which was actually headed by the NANS JCC CHAIRMAN in person of Comr. Emmanuel Iwara-Ikoh Michael
He appreciated the commissioner for it\’s intervention and equally outline few areas the government should consider before removal of fuel subsidy
*Provisions should be made to harmonize other sectors
*increment in salaries
*Reduction in the school fees.
*Provision of buses at strategic positions to convene students to schools.
*Inclusiveness of the students body in the fuel regulation/taskforce committee to monitor the process and report back to the students body.

The interactive session was headed by the commissioner of police with his entourage.
