The Honorable Commissioner for Health, Dr Henry Ayuk led the Cross River State Ministry of Health Carnival Band during the carnival parade,joining other Non- competing bands to parade and mark the conclusion of integrated free medical outreach program and ‘Wise Up’ campaign. This unique finale brought together music, culture, and health awareness, leaving a lasting impact on the carnival attendees.
The Cross River State Ministry of Health Carnival Band showcase Governor Otu’s vision to make Cross River the healthiest state by 2027. This goal is built around nine key pillars:
>Increased Appropriation for Healthcare: Boosting funding to improve healthcare services and infrastructure.
>Comprehensive Health Insurance: Ensuring everyone has access to quality healthcare, regardless of financial means.
>Revitalization of Primary Healthcare: Strengthening primary healthcare systems to provide essential services to communities.
>Equitable Access and Quality Services: Ensuring everyone has access to quality healthcare services, without discrimination.
>Free and Palliative Care For Vulnerable People: Providing free and compassionate care to those who need it most.
>Adequate Health Workforce: Ensuring there are enough skilled healthcare professionals to meet the state’s needs.
>Infrastructure Upgrades: Improving healthcare infrastructure to provide modern, efficient, and safe services.
>Prevention of Maternal, Child and Global Diseases: Implementing measures to prevent and control diseases that affect mothers, children, and the broader community.
>Build Strong Partnerships: Collaborating with stakeholders, including implementing partners and donors, to achieve these goals.
Joining Dr. Ayuk were other top government officials, including Dr. Ekpo Ekpo, Special Adviser on Health; Mrs. Uduak Efem, Special Adviser on Nursing Education; Coco-Bassey Esu, Special Assistant on Nursing; Dr Vivien Otu, Director General,CRPHCDH,Dr. Charles Iwara, Director General of SACA; and Dr. Oke Jonah, Adolescent SRH/HIV Analyst at UNFPA.
