Nigerian Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has reportedly submitted his latest album, Oriade, and several songs for consideration at the 2027 Grammy Awards.
The submissions were disclosed by music industry update platform The Grammy Guru and reported on October 12, 2026, with the singer targeting multiple categories ahead of the 69th edition of the prestigious music awards.
According to the reported entries, Davido’s sixth studio album, Oriade, has been submitted for consideration in the Album of the Year, Best Global Music Album, Best Engineered Album (Non-Classical) and Best Album Cover categories.
His song B4 B4, featuring Nigerian singers Mayorkun and FOLA, has also been entered in the Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best African Music Performance categories.
Similarly, Nakupenda, his collaboration with South African music group TxC and other artists, including Zlatan, Shoday, Scotts Maphuma and Al Xapo, has been submitted for consideration in the Song of the Year and Best African Music Performance categories.
Another entry, Le Show, featuring Ayra Starr and French Montana, is being considered for Best African Music Performance, while I Know Who I Be, featuring JAZZWRLD and GL_Ceejay, has been submitted in the Best Music Video category.
The reported submissions place Davido among the Nigerian artistes seeking recognition across multiple categories at the forthcoming awards.
However, submitting a song or album for Grammy consideration does not guarantee a nomination. The Recording Academy reviews eligible entries before voting members determine the official nominees.
First-round voting for the 2027 Grammy Awards is scheduled to run from October 12 to October 22, 2026, with the official nominees expected to be announced on November 16.
The 69th Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled for February 7, 2027, in Los Angeles, United States.
Davido has previously received five Grammy nominations but has yet to win the award. His previous nominations include Best Global Music Album for Timeless and Best African Music Performance for songs such as Unavailable and Sensational.
The latest submissions could give the Afrobeats star another opportunity to compete for recognition on one of the world’s biggest music stages, depending on the outcome of the nomination process.
