DG MEDA Presents 6 Months Scorecard to the Board during Inaugural Meeting

The Cross River State Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency (MEDA) has announced substantial strides in its operations, as outlined in a comprehensive 6-month scorecard presented to its Board. The presentation took place during the inaugural meeting of the Microfinance and Enterprise Development Board at the MEDA conference room.
In his opening remarks, the Board Chairman, Essessien Bassey Edem commended MEDA for its unwavering commitment to driving economic growth in the state. He also introduced the other board members, who expressed their enthusiasm for contributing to the state’s economic development.

The Board expressed satisfaction with the agency’s performance and reiterated their support for its mission of bolstering the state’s economic health. Hon. Abigail Duke, the Commissioner for Commerce, charged the Board and MEDA management to continue their excellent work and offered her full cooperation to further enhance the agency’s impact.
In his presentation, Director-General/Chief Executive Officer Mr. Great Ogban Usetu highlighted MEDA’s progress towards regaining its former prominence, aligning with the People First mandate of Governor Bassey Otu. The report, covering May to September 2024, showcased significant advancements in organizational structure, program interventions, partnerships, and identified opportunities for future growth.
Also present at the meeting were Engr. Edward Asu Obi, Ebenezer Ngwu, Michael Bassey Ita, and Bassey Asuquo Bassey. Additionally, Hon. Edema Irom, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, attended the meeting and expressed her support for MEDA’s initiatives. The Commissioners for Youths Development, Barr. Ijom Ukam, and International Donor Coordination, Mr. Lukpata Hippolitus, sent goodwill messages due to scheduling conflicts.
