The European Union has confirmed the appointment of Professor Aniebiet Inyang Ntui as the Ambassador of the European Climate Pact.
Launched in 2020, the European Climate Pact is part of the €1 trillion European Green Deal to help the EU meet its goal to become climate-neutral by 2050. The European Climate Pact Ambassador is responsible for informing, inspiring, and supporting climate policy and action in the various EU communities and networks.
Ambassador Aniebiet Inyang Ntui is the Most Read Researcher in Nigeria, 2022 UK Global Prize Winner, a Nobel Prize Nominee, Professor of Library and Information Science and the University Librarian of the University of Calabar.
She recently moderated climate deliberations during the 15th United Nations Biodiversity Conference of the Parties in Canada, the G20 Bali Summit in Indonesia, the 27th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties in Egypt, and the United Nations Water Summit on Groundwater, held at the UNESCO Headquarters.
In September 2022, she was in France for a Meeting with European Leaders during the EU-Polifonia Stakeholder Network Workshop 2022 held at the Conservatoire national des arts et métiers, Paris.
Recall, the European Union earlier this year appointed Enioluwa Adeoluwa, a popular Nigerian Skit Maker as the EU-Africa Ambassador.
