Solskjær Opens Door to Manchester United Return, Backs Michael Carrick
Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær has admitted that he would love another opportunity to manage the club in the future, revealing that he still has something unresolved at Old Trafford.
The Norwegian, who previously led United between 2018 and 2021, remains emotionally connected to the club and has not ruled out the possibility of returning one day.
Speaking about a potential second spell, Solskjær admitted that he would welcome another opportunity to take charge of the Red Devils.
“Of course it would have been nice to have the opportunity again,” he said, making it clear that his connection with Manchester United remains strong.
However, despite expressing his desire to return, Solskjær was full of praise for Michael Carrick, backing him to lead the club into a successful future.
The former United striker believes Carrick has the qualities required for the demanding managerial position, highlighting his understanding of the club, its supporters and the expectations that come with the job.
“Michael has what it takes to take that club forward. I think he’s the right man,” Solskjær stated.
“He understands the club, understands the fans and knows what’s needed.”
Solskjær’s comments show his continued affection for Manchester United while also offering strong support for Carrick.
Although he would welcome another opportunity at Old Trafford, his immediate message is clear: he believes Carrick is the right person to take Manchester United forward.
