Sporting Agree Deal to Appoint Paulo Fonseca as New Manager
Sporting CP have reportedly reached an agreement to appoint Paulo Fonseca as their new manager, with the Portuguese coach set to leave Olympique Lyon to take charge of the Lisbon-based club.
Fonseca is expected to sign his contract in the coming days, with the appointment set to take immediate effect as Sporting look to replace Rui Borges.
The agreement will bring an end to Fonseca’s time at Lyon, where he has been working as head coach. The Portuguese tactician is now set for a return to his home country to take on a new challenge with Sporting.
Sporting have moved quickly to secure his services, reaching an agreement that will see him step into the managerial position left by Borges.
Fonseca’s expected arrival marks a new chapter for the club, who will be hoping his experience and managerial qualities can help them achieve their ambitions.
An official announcement is expected once the remaining formalities are completed and the contract is signed in the coming days.
