Fenerbahce Agree Deal to Sign Romelu Lukaku from Napoli
Fenerbahce have reached a verbal agreement with Napoli to sign Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku, according to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Turkish giants have agreed a transfer fee worth more than €6 million for the experienced forward, with the clubs now working through the final documentation and paperwork before the deal can be formally completed.
Lukaku has already agreed personal terms with Fenerbahce and is expected to travel to Istanbul once the club gives the final authorization for his move.
The 33-year-old striker is now closing in on a new chapter in his career after his spell with Napoli. His arrival would provide Fenerbahce with significant experience and attacking quality as they prepare for the new season.
Fenerbahce are understood to be completing the necessary formalities before giving the green light for Lukaku to make the trip to Turkey and undergo the final stages of the transfer process.
With the verbal agreement in place and personal terms already settled, the deal is now dependent on the completion and signing of the required documents.
If everything proceeds as expected, Lukaku will soon arrive in Istanbul to complete his move to Fenerbahce.
The Belgian international has enjoyed a long and successful career across Europe, featuring for clubs including Chelsea, Inter Milan, Manchester United and Napoli. His experience at the highest level could make him an important addition to Fenerbahce’s squad.
The Turkish club will now focus on finalizing the paperwork before officially announcing Lukaku as their latest signing.
