How Three Nigerian Students Made the Country Proud in Rome

Three Nigerian students have brought pride to the country after winning gold medals at the Grand Finale of the International STEM Olympiad held in Rome, Italy.

The students secured the prestigious awards after representing Nigeria at the global science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) competition, where they competed against outstanding young scholars from several countries.

The achievement was announced on Tuesday by education advocate and Chief Executive Officer of Educare, Alex Onyia, who sponsored the students’ trip to Italy. According to Onyia, the trio earned the opportunity to represent Nigeria after emerging among the best performers at the Southeast Mathematics Olympiad.

He praised the students for their exceptional performance, describing their success as proof that Nigerian youths can compete with the best in the world when given the right support and opportunities.

The victory has been widely celebrated as another milestone for Nigeria’s education sector, highlighting the country’s growing presence in international academic competitions and the importance of investing in young talents.

The International STEM Olympiad brings together outstanding students from different countries to compete in science, technology, engineering and mathematics-based challenges, promoting innovation, critical thinking and global collaboration among young learners.
