Written by Mary Bassey

MultiChoice Nigeria has announced that the 11th edition of the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) reality television show will premiere on Sunday, July 26, 2026, with contestants competing for a record-breaking ₦160 million grand prize.

The announcement was made during a press briefing held on Wednesday, where the organisers disclosed that this year’s winner will receive the biggest prize package in the history of the reality show since it debuted in 2006. The ₦160 million reward is expected to include cash and sponsored prizes, surpassing last season’s ₦150 million package.

Preparations for the new season began earlier this year with physical auditions held from May 22 to May 24 in Lagos, Abuja and Enugu. The auditions were open to Nigerians aged 21 years and above who possessed valid means of identification.

The upcoming season follows the success of BBNaija Season 10, which ended in October 2025 with Opeyemi Ayanwale, popularly known as Imisi, emerging as the winner after defeating 28 other housemates. She walked away with a prize package worth ₦150 million, including ₦80 million in cash and an SUV.

The organisers are expected to unveil fresh twists, a new set of housemates and exciting tasks as millions of viewers across Nigeria and Africa prepare for another season of one of the continent’s biggest reality television shows.
