Dr Aminu Usman, popularly known as Abu Ammar, has resigned as the Commander-General of the Katsina State Hisbah Board with immediate effect.

Usman announced his resignation in a letter dated October 5, 2026, addressed to the Secretary to the Katsina State Government.

The former Hisbah commander did not disclose any reason for his decision to leave the position.

In the letter, however, Usman expressed appreciation to Governor Dikko Umar Radda for the confidence, trust and opportunity given to him to serve the people of Katsina State.

He said it was an honour and privilege to contribute to the development, peace, security and moral well-being of the state during his tenure.

Usman also thanked the governor for his leadership, guidance and support, while praying for continued wisdom, good health and success for the governor and prosperity for Katsina State.

Dr Aminu Usman had served as the public face of the Katsina Hisbah Board on several major issues involving morality, social conduct and public order in the state. He had, among other things, announced directives concerning nightclubs and other activities as part of the board’s mandate.

His resignation now brings his tenure as Commander-General to an end, although details of who will succeed him have not been announced in the reports currently available.
