MOHBAD COURT CASE EMANATES AS SECOND AUTOPSY IS APPROVED
The Lagos State Ikorodu Magistrate’s Court approves second autopsy for Mohbad following family’s request. The singer’s family had previously expressed their dissatisfaction with the initial autopsy, which they found to be inconclusive.
Mohbad, a 27-year-old singer, passed away under unclear circumstances on September 12, 2023, and was buried the next day. Due to public demand to uncover the true cause of his death, his body was exhumed on September 21, 2023, and an autopsy was conducted by the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).
However, the family of the deceased rejected the autopsy results, citing that they did not clarify the cause of death. Consequently, they urged the presiding magistrate of the coroner’s inquest to ensure an independent toxicology report is presented to the court before finalizing the report for the authorities.
In a court session held on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, the Ikorodu Magistrate’s Court granted permission to Mohbad’s family and their legal team to conduct a second autopsy.
