CRSG in partnership with USAID Excellence Community Education Welfare Scheme ( ECEWS) (ACE-5) Project has flag – off a program in the accelerating control of the HIV Epidemic in Nigeria.
Flagging of the Program for and on behalf of the Cross River State Government and Akwa Ibom State, Rt Hon Ekpo Ekpo Bassey , Chairman,House Committee on Health, stated that, ‘ The State Government will show capacity in given all necessary resources and support to implement this laudable project in controlling HIV/AIDS/TB programs in the state and the Local Government.
In the introduction of the USAID ECEWS ACE – 5 project, Mr Andy Eyo , the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) stated that ECEWS is leading a consortium of achieving Health Nigeria Initiative (AHNi) FHI 360 and Howard University Global Initiative in Nigeria (HUGIN) to support Akwa Ibom and Cross River States in their final push toward sustainable HIV epidemic control with support from USAID.
Speaking during the goodwill message, Dr Inyang Asibong,Commissioner,Ministry of International Development Cooperation/Donor who was represented by the Senior Special Assistant,International Development Cooperation, Mr CocoBassey Esu , assured USAID ECEWS ACE – Project and critical stakeholders of robust Government engagement with stakeholders in achieving the objectives of the program of increasing Resiliency,responsiveness and accountability of the health system.
The flag off has representatives from the Ministry of Health in CRS and Akwa Ibom State, FHI 360, SACA , Primary Health care from CRS and AKS ,Howard University among others.
