The Chairman of Obubra Local Government Area in Cross River State, Hon. Kingsley Arikpo, has commenced a comprehensive healthcare Construction and renovation project aimed at revitalizing primary healthcare facilities across the local government.
The initiative officially begins with the Apiapum Health Centre, a facility considered critical to the wellbeing of residents. Situated along a major roadside, the health centre serves a significant number of people and its construction/renovation is expected to improve access to quality healthcare while reassuring the public of the administration’s commitment to strengthening the health sector.
According to the local government leadership, the renovation drive will not be limited to Apiapum Health Centre alone. Plans are already underway to extend the intervention to healthcare facilities across the entire Obubra Local Government Area.
As part of the process, the local government’s health supervisory team is currently carrying out assessments and collating information on the condition of health facilities throughout the area to determine the scope of renovations and other necessary interventions.
The administration has assured residents that updates on the progress of the Apiapum Health Centre renovation, as well as work on other healthcare facilities, will be communicated to the public as the project advances.
