Today, I had the distinct honor of attending the Federal Ministry of Works Flag-off ceremony for the monumental 750KM Lagos – Calabar Coastal Highway, an initiative that promises to transform our state’s infrastructure and enhance economic opportunities for our people. This event was graced by the esteemed presence of His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, represented by the dynamic Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu.
As I stood among dignitaries, stakeholders, and community members, I couldn’t help but reflect on the profound impact this project will have on our state and the entire nation. The Lagos – Calabar Coastal Highway is not just a road; it is a vital artery that will facilitate trade, improve transportation, and foster connectivity between our coastal regions and the rest of Nigeria.

This highway will significantly reduce travel time, enhance the movement of goods and services, and open new avenues for investment in Cross River State. I commend the Federal Government for this ambitious initiative and express my gratitude to Governor Otu for his unwavering commitment to the progress of Cross River State. Together, we are paving the way for a brighter future, one that embraces innovation and sustainability.
