PROSPECT LADIES AKAMKPA embarked on an outreach to the Ayaebam community in Akamkpa LGA

Good menstrual health and hygiene practices can prevent infections, reduce odors, and help you stay comfortable during your period.

Earlier today, the PROSPECT LADIES AKAMKPA (PLA) embarked on an outreach to the Ayaebam community in Akamkpa LGA: \”TAGGED PAD UP A GIRL CHILD!

\”Pad up a girl child\” was a move adopted by the aforementioned association to educate, enlighten, and advise the girl child on personal hygiene, menstrual hygiene, and also on the disadvantages of early childbearing, amongst others.

The idea of padding up the girl child was to reach out to young girls in secondary schools and it has been ongoing for the past years within communities in the metropolis of Cross River State.

The just concluded event was made up of hundreds of pupils from the ages of 15–20 who are still in their 0\’ level.

The administration of the school appreciates our effort and advises us never to relent in educating the young ones on good hygiene.

The pupils that participated were happy and paid attention to every lecture regarding menstrual hygiene awareness. Many questions were entertained, and games to enlighten the pupils were introduced.

The distribution of pads and their ways of usage were introduced, and it was noticed that children at the age of 14 are yet to be conversant with pad hygiene or modes of application.

We are truly grateful to the entire people of the Ayaebam community for allowing us to sensitize their children. And to our very own members of Prospect Ladies Akamkpa God bless you all for this selfless sacrifice!

In attendance were Princess Magdalene Ekpe, Coordinator for the just concluded event; Mrs. Elsie Ogbedu, President; and Rachel Ochicha, Mrs Pearl Patrick, Elizabeth Itagbor, Mrs Vivian Patrick, Mrs Tina Agbor, Mrs Gift Ernest, Mrs Victoria Etim, Kokoma Basset, Gloria Ekanem, Monche, Sonia Etta
